The ultimate meal-in-a-bowl and what any Japanese business man or woman thinks of the moment you mention comfort food. Ramen is a noodle soup dish that was originally imported from China and has become one of the most popular dishes in Japan in recent decades. Made with an intensely porky, opaque pale broth with a sticky-lipped intensity and the rich, buttery texture of light cream, there’s no smell more warming on a cold day than a big hot bowl of Tonkotsu Ramen set before you. Ramen has became a Japanese cultural icon and has been studied around the world from many perspectives.
