What wonderful suport we had on our first open fruit picking day. It was such a success that depended on fruit we’re planning another open day on Monday 27 November. We’re based in Hekpoort, Gauteng. R20/kg minimum charge R200pp.

Fruit flies in a fruit orchard.
Last year we ran an experiment of introducing pigs into our fruit orchard. We believed that by allowing them to pick up damaged and fallen fruit it would reduce
fruit fly the following season by disrupting the flies lifecycle. When we put this theory forward there was a lot of scepticism.
Well I’m pleased to report that we were correct. Here’s a bowl of the fruit infected by fruit fly - less than 20 apricots from over 100 kg processed yesterday.

Wickedfood Earth Farm’s Whole oven-ready pigs.
We’re able to supply smaller pigs, perfect for whole roasting either in an oven, or spit, as a perfect Christmas Day, stress alternative to the boring turkey.
Our pigs are growth hormone and antibiotic free. They weigh from about 5kgs up to around 15 kgs at R150/kg - allow about 350g per person. When ordering we’ll also supply detailed cooking instructions to create crispy skin and succulent meat.

Whole oven ready pigs now available
At Wickedfood Earth we do not supply suckling pigs, rather breed smaller pigs for whole roasting.
We slaughter at around 3 months as opposed to 4 weeks for commercial suckling pigs. Our pigs are growth hormone and antibiotic free. They weigh from about 5kgs up to around 15 kgs at R150/kg.
An easy no stress alternative to the boring Christmas turkey. When ordering we’ll also supply detailed cooking instructions to create crispy skin and succulent meat.
