The tomatillo, also known as the Mexican husk tomato, is a plant of the nightshade family bearing green, yellow and purple fruit similar in look to the cape gooseberry. Tomatillos originated in Mexico. A staple of Mexican cuisine, they are eaten raw or cooked in a variety of dishes.
At Wickedfood Earth Farm we have been growing a wide variety of organic tomatillos for the last 10 years. These tomatillos are roasted, chopped and bottled. Great to use for Mexican dishes, especially moles and salsas, when fresh tomatillos are out of season.

At Wickedfood Earth Country Cooking School we bottle all excess fruit and vegetables at the peak of their ripeness. All our fruit and vegetables are grown along organic lines free of insecticides, fertilizers or any other poisons. We hand make small batches of a wide range of preservative-free preserves, jams, chutneys, relishes, sauces and bottled fruit. This ensures that we do not need to over process, which results in concentrated, natural flavours.
