Spring onion marmalade

Spring onions have a much finer texture and sweeter flavour than regular onions. This unusual, sweet preserve is exceptionally good and, remarkably, does not taste of onions. It has a sharp, refreshing flavour and a rich colour, with a hint of chilli and mustard.

At Wickedfood Earth Farm we bottle all excess fruit and vegetables at the peak of their ripeness. All our fruit and vegetables are grown along organic lines free of insecticides, fertilisers or any other poisons. We hand make all our preserves and jams in small batches to ensure the best possible quality.

Serving Suggestions

Fantastic with beef steaks, lamb roast, or slow-roasted mutton or game.
For roasts stir 1-2T of the marmalade into the gravy at the end.
Also goes well as a condiment on a cheese board, especially with strong cheddar. And for the ultimate boerewors roll, spread a layer of Spring Onion Marmalade on the roll.

Toad in the Hole with a delicious spring onion marmalade gravy.

A wonderful creation from the humble origins of British cooking. These Yorkshire puddings are light, crispy and crunchy, with meaty pork or beef sausages added. At Wickedfood Earth Country Cooking School we make them in our Sausage-making Workshop, and serve them with a delicious Spring Onion Marmalade gravy. The Yorkshire puddings need to be made at the last minute and served as soon as they come out of the oven. Click here for the recipe
