Serving suggestion: Perfect for a pie filling but also delicious with potato or cauliflower mash.

Cooking method: Defrost and cover with a rectangle of puff pastry. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 200°C for ±20-30 minute till the pastry is golden brown.

Description

Steak and kidney pies are legendary and one of our all-time favourites. We get a small quantity of kidney from our slaughter man when he slaughters an ox. We slowly braise the cubed kidney with veld-raised beef, and lots of onion and spices, until the meat is tender with a thick gravy.
